I hear you, but my kid is on an IEP. I was very worried and had asked pointedly how they were doing. Teachers all said fine. They are in middle school and their grades are posted. They got As and Bs on tests. None of their grade was attendance-based from what I saw in ParentVUE. Sorry, but they owed us more of a warning if the kid regressed so much.

You’re putting way too much stock into the SOLs.

This. SOLs are useless. Don’t waste time worrying about them.

My kid did really well on DIEBELS and the math inventory and then passed the SOLs, but not amazing scores. At least in his case, I know they didn't do a lot of SOL specific review like they would in a normal year. I wouldn't put a ton of stock in this year's SOLs.

But their peers who got As and also passed their SOL? Are theirs not fake?

If the passed the SOL, good grades seem appropriate. J just am feeling like they went easy on my kid, who clearly did not learn anything. If I had had any indication that they were struggling, h would have hired a tutor or done something else. When your kid is getting all As, you think all is well. Clearly not. I really don’t know what to do. I have emailed the school to talk about what interventions are necessary.
