There are some schools where you have to fill out a self-reported transcript (SSAR Or SRAR) with your kids' grades. They don't ask for transcripts from the school until you are admitted and want to enroll. Florida State and U of Florida use them. Also U. of Delaware, Virginia Tech, Penn State, etc. They asked for middle school grades for those classes that were high school classes.

Fwiw my kid moved from Arlington to Loudoun. Got all A+ on those high school classes in middle school (languages etc) but APS doesn’t have an A-plus so it went on the transcript as an A. Fast forward to end of senior year of high school and she missed valedictorian by less than 0.1 point. Had she received A-plus in middle school she would have been valedictorian. Oh well.

How did that happen? Isn’t the highest score an A.

I would drop it. If you're in-state thinking about the top public schools, they all have 4.2 GPA+ means. Don't fall into the trap that you're creating too much pressure etc. The pressure is there, you're actually relieving it a bit by taking one more grade out of the mix for them. If they end up not going to one of the top publics in-state, it's not like the absence of that B+ will matter.

Yes drop it. AO's won't look at the classes taken before 9th grade even HS level ones. But it will impact his overall GPA. I do agree with an earlier comment that I wouldn't do any of this before junior year.

At least your ^^ kid'strajectory was in the right direction, they take note of that.

I would do it if you can. My DS is in MCPS and has 3 Bs (out of 6 semesters) from middle school. Has done much better since then but there is no option to get it off the transcript or to not be included in GPA.

I have no idea whether colleges will consider them though since most if not all colleges recalculate. Hard to imagine that if they recalculate they would include since the vast majority of school districts don’t include middle school grades when calculating HS GPA. Seems like it would be hard to compare.

DD carried over an algebra/geometry grade and a foreign language grade from MS - both high Bs. I suppose she could have dropped the math grade, as she did continue on to take four years of progressively harder math in HS. But she would have needed to retain the language grade I believe because several colleges she applied to want to see three years of foreign language. Those grades are on the transcript and counted toward her GPA, which ended up being 3.85 uw. I’m pretty sure most of the colleges disregard the MS grades themselves but do look at courses taken and course rigor. DD did pretty well in the application process this past year, so I think overall the MS grades didn’t hurt, except if she had been reaching for T20 (which she didn’t).
