"A good wife is worth her weight in gold, she who gladly strokes her husband's glory and fulfills her husband's daily desires will receive much reward in heaven."
Too many people take a single verse either out of context or not in its entirety:
"In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband."
How many actually love their wives like Christ loves the Church? And yet they expect their wives to follow the submissive verse, but they don't think they need to follow things that they are told to do, or they twist words to suit their purposes.
This was not the intent of Christ's teachings. Men, who have held the power, just like to twist thing to suit their needs/wants, and I do include the picking and choosing by men of specific books and verses that comprise the Bible.
modern christians who are uncomfortable with some of the more troublesome aspects of the Bible happily pretend those passages don't exist or interpret them in non-sensical ways to justify ignoring them.

So when you are exhausted at the end of the day, maybe from dealing with little ones, and you fall into bed so exhausted at night, don’t forget about him because you and he are the only ones who can have that time together. No one else in the world can meet that need.”
And so be available, and not just available, but be joyfully available for him. Smile and be willing to say, ‘Yes, sweetie I am here for you,’ no matter what, even though you may be exhausted and big pregnant and you may not feel like he feels. ‘I’m still here for you and I’m going to meet that need because I know it’s a need for you.

Here’s the thing. I love taking care of him. It’s in my nature to take care of people ( nurse) and I enjoy having someone who appreciates me taking care of him. Not at all do we follow that though. He knows I will not stand for any disrespect. He also takes care of me and does the housework I hate to do. I’m more sexually submissive but there are boundaries and he respects me.
