that sounds like SYC girls. Their got soccer ranking are high based on the sheer volume of tournaments

All to not qualify (or crash out in lowest bracket) of Jefferson Cup. SYC isn't bad for boys; just make sure you do your own training and preparation because all you do is play. SYC is a joke for girls.

Arlington is the best of both worlds.

If you define "best" as spending time with other d'bag parents watching kids play kickball, they are indeed equal opportunists in that sense.

Yes, once again simply unthinkable that any conversation about youth soccer must not inevitably turn back to girls teams for parents of girl soccer players. SMH. Let's talk about SYC girls in a thread titled "best soccer club for boys." That makes sense.

Arlington is a great club. But also a horrible club. They play for rankings and are known at certain age brackets to play down or use higher level kids on lower teams.

They never play down, but they do sometimes use higher level kids on lower teams when they need guest players. I think that is fine, as long as there is a legitimate need for guest players, rather than a fabricated one.

Of course you did, and of course you said so, because you are a girls soccer parent, and it is difficult to imagine any discussion or thought about soccer that does not involve your girl. What is with you people?

Pick your state and age, and gender:

https://youthsoccerrankings.us/rankings/National/All/Both/

U13 boys top 10 from that site:

1 VDA ECNL [33] 35.56
2 RICHMOND UNITED ECNL [49] 35.14
3 HERNDON YS ASSOCIATION AJAX [74] 34.77
4 LOUDOUN SC SOCCER ECNL [94] 34.53
5 ALEXANDRIA SOCCER SA RED [95] 34.51
6 BEACH FC RED [231] 33.40
7 ARLINGTON SA SOCCER ECNL [283] 33.14
8 GREAT FALLS RESTON SC ELITE [302] 33.05
9 VIENNA YS EAGLES [348] 32.78
10 VIST CLIFTON COBRAS [374]

OK. But if you're going to do that, shouldn't you compare all age groups instead of just Arlington's weakest team?

U10
1 ARLINGTON SA RED [54] 28.22

U11
1 ALEXANDRIA SOCCER SA ALEX RED [108] 29.71
2 SPRINGFIELD SOUTH COUNTY YOUTH CLUB BLUE [147] 29.34
3 ARLINGTON SA RED [170] 29.06

U12
1 RICHMOND KICKERS YOUTH SC ELITE RED ECNL RL [16] 33.54
2 SPRINGFIELD SOUTH COUNTY YOUTH CLUB BLUE [178] 31.27
3 MANASSAS SC LIONS GOLD [240] 30.86
4 ARLINGTON SA RED [257] 30.78

U13
1 VDA ECNL [33] 35.56
2 RICHMOND UNITED ECNL [49] 35.14
3 HERNDON YS ASSOCIATION AJAX [74] 34.77
4 LOUDOUN SC SOCCER ECNL [94] 34.53
5 ALEXANDRIA SOCCER SA RED [95] 34.51
6 BEACH FC RED [231] 33.40
7 ARLINGTON SA SOCCER ECNL [283] 33.14

U14
1 ALEXANDRIA SOCCER SA RED [54] 36.97
2 ARLINGTON SA SOCCER ECNL [71] 36.72

U15
1 ARLINGTON SA SOCCER ECNL [12] 40.11

U16
1 ARLINGTON SA SOCCER ECNL [3] 41.70

U17
1 RICHMOND STRIKERS ELITE [28] 41.84
2 SYC ELITE [60] 41.37
3 RICHMOND UNITED ECNL [64] 41.34
4 VDA ECNL [67] 41.32
5 ARLINGTON SA SOCCER ECNL [77] 41.19

U19
1 HERNDON YS ASSOCIATION [24] 43.14
2 FC RICHMOND MAGIC ELITE [37] 42.56
3 LOUDOUN SC SOCCER ECNL [84] 41.78
4 RICHMOND UNITED ECNL [96] 41.54
5 ARLINGTON SOCCER ECNL [103] 41.43

So Arlington are top in three age groups, and only outside the top 5 in one age group.

The reason Arlington are the best is because of the coaching team which is hands down the best in the area.

I see SYC and Alexandria more than any other club. So far best 3 clubs for boys is clear

ARLINGTON, SYC, and Alexandria

And yet only one of those has parents that go on and on and on...give it a rest.

No. Only one of those is so good that jealous parents (&/or coaches?) from other clubs relentlessly attack it, causing Arlington parents to defend the club.

Only time Arlington has beaten the SYC team has been in the Arlington tournament...hmmm??? Seems the poster is trying to show Arlington cred not based on facts.

Way to join half way through the conversation. Another poster posted the YSR rankings for Arlington's 2008 team, attempting to show that Arlington wasn't very good. I simply said, if you want to use YSR rankings then you should look at all age groups, not just one. So I posted every age group available - whatever YSR shows. If you have a beef with YSR then take it up with them, not me.

That said, the ranking looks fine to me. Both teams have 15-20 games listed against a range of opponents, which is more than enough to establish a reliable rating. Here is Arlington's record:

https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=3482318

Plodding. Plodding. Unbelievably tedious. You can read the notes but you don’t hear the music. Good grief.
