I know a guy who got a perfect score on the multistage portion fo the CA bar exam. In law school, he was best known for hitting on underage women, coming to class late, and watching porn on his laptop in full view of other people. He was one of those people who benefited heavily from the law school grading curve, because it prevented him from failing out of school (it's hard to get an A but it's also hard to get a D or even a C -- almost everyone gets some form of B). But he had a great short term memory, put in a month of concerted effort on studying for the multiple choice section of the exam, and he got every single question right. If you asked me if I thought that guy was smart, I'd say no, but the bar isn't really about "smart". Yes, the essay portions are more challenging and I'm sure he didn't do as well on them, but he passed the bar on the first try, in large part because of his very high multistage score.
Meanwhile, I studied for the CA bar with one of my closest friends who had a 9th Circuit clerkship (which if you know, you know) and she failed on her first try. She was super stressed out and overthought it and I think anxious about her clerkship. She passed no problem the second time but it sucked because she had to study while clerking and everyone she knew had already passed. She's one of the smartest people I know in the law and has had a great career.
The bar isn't about smart v. dumb. It's a standardized test. Smart people fail it and dumb people pass it and everyone has different strengths and the bar only tests very specific skill sets. Kim failing the baby bar isn't really evidence one way or another of anything. I do think it's a more interesting choice than most of her other endeavors, especially because it seems driven by both her interest in criminal justice and her dad.

She took a test they call the “baby bar” in California. It’s part of an alternate path to becoming a lawyer in CA that is not available in most states. And “baby bar” is a bit of a misnomer because there’s nothing baby about it — it’s a hard test, on purpose, to restrict how many people qualify for this alternate path.
Anyway, FYI— I failed the actual CA bar the first time I took it and I’m not dumb either.
I don’t even like the Kardashians but the amount of people trying to shame her for failing a test on here is gross. She didn’t have to do this. Getting within striking distance of passing is an achievement. Yes, she’s rich and privileged— so are many, many lawyers! But a soon-to-be divorced mom trying to do this in her 40s is inspiring to me. This is probably the coolest thing Kim has ever tried. I don’t get the hate.
She’s an entitled brat who thought she’d be a hot shot move lawyer. She failed miserably not “striking distance.”
She’s dumb as a fukin rock because she failed and she deserved it. You’re dumb as well. I’m dumb and I passed the bar. Next!
Everyone in the original thread was supporting her and cheering her on. Most everyone.
She wanted something that you can't just purchase and grift your way through. This isn't her fake body or fake reality TV show.
Her work in criminal justice reform, while probably for clout, is commendable. She should stick with lending her money and voice to worthy causes.
If she wanted to be a real lawyer, she would have finished college, gone to law school, studied for the bar, and passed, like every other lawyer.
So your begrudging her for taking the shorter more efficient route instead of doing seven mostly pointless years of education?

You couldn't make it more obvious you're a paid PR hack if you tried. Go away.
