Yes, me too. Hated Breaking Bad, and hated The Wire. Shows for men.
Speak for yourself, Sally.![]()
I’m a woman and loved both - they are far better than most of the other fluff on TV these days.
I would rather be locked in a solitary confinement cell than to be made to watch Desperate Housewives type soap opera dramas, or any of the reality TV drivel that so many gals are enthralled by - Bachelor? Bachelorette? Real Housewives? BARF!
So maybe it’s not a gender thing, but a maturity/intellect thing.
Anonymous wrote:Nope. Couldn't get past the second episode. I can't stand watching people do stupid or incredibly upsetting things that will not end well. Why would I want to watch that? It was so disgusting just to be disgusting. Added nothing to the show. That's lazy writing IMHO.
Anonymous wrote:I loved it when it first came out. I tried to watch it again, but it is incredibly tedious. Maybe because I know the story by now, but I had expected to enjoy all the details I missed upon rewatch. But no, it's just tedious

All these are character shows with anti-heroes. I can’t get enough of them and I’m looking for a recommendation. I can’t get into GOT or Dexter or Walking Dead so something else??
Ozark.

Who has time to waste on things they don’t enjoy?
GOT is basically a history of the British Empire. I kid you not! Everything he writes about is directly British history.

Anonymous wrote:Also didn’t love it. The characters make such terrible decisions that it’s hard to identify with them. Like when Jessie got chained up and forced to make meth. Come on.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I’ve heard that men tend to like it much more than women. I watched the first season and liked it but never had a huge desire to watch more.
I’m a woman and loved that show. Complex human and family relationships and a fascinating glimpse of descent into evil that can happen to the average person.

Woman too and loved BB and Ozark (lot of parallels).
Per your request for shows similar - Give Peaky Blinders a chance (took me a few episodes).
Six Feet Under
