Or just Joni, like Joni Mitchell. It has a cool throwback feel, like someone who would be described as a "tough broad" in the 50s/60s for spouting feminist ideas during book club. I'd love to know a Joan/Joanie!
Joanie and Margo are two names I really want to come back.
I feel like Margo kind of has? Not sure where it is on the popularity lists, but I've definitely heard it recently for babies.
I think Joanie sounded too dated even for me a couple years ago but is suddenly sounding SO fresh and perfect.
Yup, Margo/Margot has been climbing the charts. Margot is in the 200s after being outside the top 1000 as recently as 2012. Margo is the less popular spelling, which surprises me a little because it's the more phonetic spelling. Maybe people like that silent French "t"?
Joan is totally primed for a comeback though! Been falling in popularity since the 80s. Hasn't even ranked in the top 1000 since the early 90s! I think it's time to brink it back.
