It's also none of your business what they call themselves. Their goal is not to please or placate you.
She literally put out a press release about it. If it were none of our business, it wouldn’t be all over the news!!

Not only that, but I can't believe how cold and judgmental people are of a person who has struggled with addition and mental illness.
I struggled with math, too. But you don't see me crying about it in the headlines.
I struggled with grammar so using plural pronouns to refer to a single person is troubling. why not use a new word?

I don’t understand this misogynistic attention seeking behavior. Look at me! I’m not like other girls. I’m “non-binary” and you can refer to me in the plural. Who gives a shit. Time to break down gender stereotypes, not continue to propagate them with this crap.
Have you considered therapy to deal with your ridiculous anger? I can't believe you're so worked up about this. It's really troubling. You should correct this character defect of yours.

Actually as a non-girly girl. It was not easily accepted by family. I was forced to wear dresses, etc. It was not better or easier.
I’m glad non-binary people can stop being put in a box that disgusts them.

Anonymous wrote:Ugh. This trend bothers me so much on behalf of actual trans people who feel they were born the wrong sex. Is Demi aware that you can be gay and dress masculine and still be she/her? Does she know that to be a “woman” you don’t have to wear dresses and be 100% feminine? Most women aren’t like that anyway. There is such a misogynistic bent to this behavior, it disgusts me.

Who are you to deem them any less trans than an “actual trans” person?
She’s not saying she’s trans though, is she? That’s the problem.
I don't find it to be a problem. But no they are not coming out as trans.
I think nonbinary is actually great for especially queer kids to see. They don't have to commit to transitioning just because they don't feel particularly "right" in their assigned gender.
That said, I would not be shocked if Demi is trying on a ton of identities much in order to make themselves feel "OK now". It seems more like a desperate search for the truth that will make things all better, not a revelation about the truth that was always sitting there. Not sure if that makes sense.
ONE LAST TIME: YOU ARE NOT ASSIGNED A “GENDER” AT BIRTH. YOU ARE ASSIGNED A “SEX”. IF YOU ARE A MASCULINE FEMALE, YOU CAN STILL BE A SHE/HER FEMALE. WHAT MAKES YOU TRANS IS WHEN YOU ARE DISGUSTED BY YOUR BODY AND FEEL YOU HAVE THE LITERAL WRONG GENITALIA. IT’S NOT SOME “I LIKE DRESSES BUT I HAVE A DICK” OR “I DON’T WANT TO DRESS FEMININE AND I’M A LESBIAN” THING. IT’S BODY DYSMORPHIA. STOP BEING SO STUPID.
Sheesh.
You are splitting hairs here. Yes, we as a society DO assign genders to people, almost always in a binary paradigm, according to their external sex traits. We just do. Which is obviously problematic for a portion of people because we should be assigning sex vs. gender in a different manner but in practice we DON'T.
I don't even know what your ranting means in the bolded. What makes you trans is "being literally disgusted" is such and outdated way of thinking about trans people, as you know THEY will tell everyone themselves. There is more than 1 way to be trans. more than 1 way to be nonbinary.
You are trying to sound like an authority on this when you clearly aren't
NP. I don’t ever remember being assigned a gender. When does this usually take place?
