McLean wants to enjoy their new shiny toys at the expense of developing their talent from within. Nothing new in the travel world but yes they will drive many families out and they are fine with. Families should be fine with that too. No point in staying at a club that has given up on your DC. There are other options and other sets of eyes that will see something these McLean coaches fail to see.

Yup. It's painful for the kids, especially as some have their offers and others are still waiting as the trickle down effect from ECNL is still ongoing. DC's team is rife with rumors of kids coming down from higher teams, bumping down long-time teammates and/or driving them to leave the club.

I'm not sure there is a viable solution, but it sucks for the kids.

What happened to 48-hour acceptance?

Just McLean soccer moving the goal posts again. Won’t be surprised if they renege on their statement that all current MYS players will get a spot. I know if someone who was told she got demoted and my sense is they told her early so that she’s be upset and walk away. Shameful behavior.

Why wouldn’t they want her to move down to green? Problem player?

They are brining a lot of new players in 2008 age group, so some ECNL players were asked to move down to green team. McLean is probably waiting for those players to either accept or decline the offers before moving down the list.

McLean going all in on the Green and is now pickling 08 players. Is there no end?

Oh, the humanity....

Don't you assume that they are just moving systematically down the list? I know people on the boys side, both from inside the club and out, who have received offers for ECNL . Some said yes, some said no. So coaches must move on to the next set of players and so on and so forth. If it is taking extra long this year, I would assume that either McLean is being turned down more often than expected or that they are not happy with the level of players at the tryouts -- or both.

I’m going with option 1.

+1. McLean is playing dirty this year.

That would be pretty 💩 as some kids chose not to tryout at other clubs since they were told via email all current players had spots.

Our club guarantees spots but not dies not guarantee what team the spot will be on.

That’s what McLean said in writing this year as well.
