Eh, on the list of things that concern me, mask-wearing is really far down.
One of my kids is in a mixed aged class now (kids are 2.5-5), and they all wear masks all day, every day. It's just not a huge issue. My daughter is so used to it that she usually forgets she's wearings hers by at pick-up (and I'd assumed that she'd DESPISE masking). Kids are really adaptable.

I also do not agree with OP. Masks do make the community safer, so no- it should be the goal of folks to be in masks. This is life now. But/and yes the school must work with your child and wear one.
If the teacher isn't comfortable I have seen them send a child to the isolation room. I imagine if a child above the age of 3 can't wear one they have special needs or a behavioral issue.

One self contained classroom is not science. Personal anecdote is not science. And covid doesn’t spread through lack of cleaning.
Didn't say it was, anecdotal evidence is still evidence. Not the most ideal kind but wanted to share the experience my school has had for the past few months.

Regardless of what any school tells you- they cannot send your kid home because they cannot wear a mask. Trust me, I know.
They will absolutely work with your kid on wearing a mask. But they cannot send you home.
I also do not agree with OP. Masks do make the community safer, so no- it should be the goal of folks to be in masks. This is life now. But/and yes the school must work with your child and wear one.

Go to page 12 of the PDF (page 5 of the document). Bracketed text = deletion; Underlined text = addition).
MoCo deleted the provision from their mask order that targeted 3, 4, and 5 year olds, and now their mask order just references the Maryland-state order, which was always kids 6 and older.
Mcps pk teacher and this is news to me. I will continue to have the 4 year olds in my program wear masks.

Hm, idk I work with children with special needs and all 6 of my students don’t mask. We haven’t had any covid outbreaks. However it’s 6 kids and 3 adults who are vigilant about cleaning.
