The idea of someone handling my dirty clothes makes me very uncomfortable.

I dont get this. The worst part about laundry is taking the sheets off the bed and reaching down in the corners to make the bed again. It’s gathering all the stuff, not pressing the button on the machine.

Laundry is the least time-consuming chore. In the washer, in the dryer, pull clean clothes out of basket until it’s empty, repeat .

They fold it on dirty tables, sometimes on the floor if no table is available.

Since we've been working from home laundry does not bother me. My husband tosses in a load when he wakes up. I hang dry it during my morning break. Take it down and fold during lunch. He puts it away.

Hanging drying in the sun always relaxes me and I get fresh air for a few minutes before heading back to my home office.

I don’t mind doing or folding laundry. I just drag my feet on putting it away. Who knows why. Don’t think a laundry service helps with that....

Of all the chores I mind laundry the least.

Laundry isn't worth it for me to outsource--I actually LIKE doing laundry. Putting it away sucks but I love washing and folding clean laundry straight from the dryer.

We bought a new washer/dryer this year and it has every bell and whistle. Wifi notifications when the cycle is done (and a reminder 30 minutes later if you didn't deal with it at the first reminder). Auto-dispensing liquid chamber that we fill up to the top every two weeks. Even a cycle that can run overnight if you need a soccer uniform or a load of face masks washed and ready to dry (the washer can dry a small load of laundry with cool air).

now THAT was life changing!

I like to do my own laundry because laundry for us is not just the clothes we wear.

We also wash bedsheets, pillows, blankets, comforters, bath mats, towels, kitchen towels, car mats, coats, caps, book bags/lunch boxes, uggs, sneakers...and nowadays, I use the drawer washer to wash all our masks too.

I am so impressed and mystified by people who say it's so easy. It's at least 4 different steps, that you have to do at the right time. Invariably I get distracted, forget to move from the washer to the dryer and have to rerun musty clothes, or forget to take them out of the dryer and have wrinkly clothes.

You can throw a damp towel in and tumble it with the wrinkled clothes for 10-15 minutes and they’ll smooth out again 👍

No, that’s dumb. Laundry is the easiest part of my day.

Laundry is the easiest house chore there is.

It's not like we have to walk the basket down to the river and manually scrub, squeeze, and dunk our clothes, then lug it all back home and hang it to dry.

It's, throw basket in wash, turn on. Do whatever. Later, throw washer clothes into dryer. Do whatever. Put away or just leave it in 'clean' basket if hangers and drawers to too much work.

Of all the household chores I'd choose to spend money on, laundry isn't it. It's not that bad when you break it up a few loads at a time during the week. Our w/d is right outside our master bedroom so we can throw a load in and switch it out easily while doing other things. My kids also help with sorting and folding laundry which is nice. Each person puts away their clean clothes, even my 4.5 year old.

On the other hand, I hate cleaning the house and prepping/cooking food and would be more than happy to outsource those tasks.

Gross. We had to send out our laundry in college. Never again.
