If you’re low-risk and observant of common sense protocol, what’s the big rush?

You do realize that liver failure (caused by tylenol) kills hundreds of people every year right? I am sure some people are predisposed to it, but still. EVERYTHING has a risk

Then let’s stop lying. It isn’t safe. It’s mostly safe.
And I don’t do Tylenol, because that isn’t safe either.
LIFE isn't 100% safe. Do you ever drive a car? Ride in a car with someone else driving? Walk across a street? Exercise of any sort? Mow your lawn? Shovel snow from your sidewalk (I know 2 people who had heart attacks doing this)? Ride a bike?
Congratulations. If you do none of those things, you spend your life sitting on the couch ... Which is not only a miserable existence, your sedentary lifestyle puts you at high risk for heart disease, diabetes, and a dozen other life-threatening conditions.
Mitigating one risk often creates another (smaller) risk. Choose your poison. People who choose to drive for vacation because they feel flying is dangerous don't realize that flying is statistically safer than driving. (In case it wasn't obvious: COVID=driving, vaccine=flying).

emergency use authorization is granted when certain criteria are met, including there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives. In this case, 2 months of data was required along with the fact that there was no adequate approved alternative.
approval requires 6 months of data
Tick tock. It's been 6 months. Should be approved any day no?
Yes, maybe by this afternoon.
So when the FDA waves its magic wand, will we see a jump in vaccination rate?
They will find something else...maybe they can start saying vaccines cause autism again.
Out of my family and circle of friends I was the first to line up for every other vaccine, flu, Tdap, hepatitis vaccines. I am not getting this one though, at least not until it has been approved for a year or so. Call me all the names you want, it’s help turning me off to the vaccines even more.
It’s totally true that the onslaught of threats and shaming in this country, is only making people more suspicious of the real agenda here.
The fing real agenda is to end the pandemic, which requires us all working together and shouldering the vaccine risk. We only get community spread down by vaccination or real lockdowns, and we already learned Americans can’t lock down to save their mother.
Until all the kids can be vaccinated that isn’t going to happen. I will wait until it’s approved for children since I am smaller than many children.
Me too. Does that matter? Do you mean approved for emergency use or full approval?
I will wait for full approval for my children and myself. If it’s not safe for kids, it’s not safe for me.
A lack of approval for kids due to lack of data does not mean it’s “unsafe for kids”. It’s safe for you, and it hasn’t yet been shown what dose of the vaccine is safe for kids.
But, you know what’s really unsafe for kids ? A dead parent.
How will your kids feel at your funeral when they hear people talking about how you refused to get a vaccine because there was no vaccine for kids. Do you think they’ll feel happy and proud that you sacrificed yourself for them?
