#1 - HANDLE ON CRIME!!!! Get tough!
So you can park your car in public space for $35/year but others can't take up the equivalent space with a tent? Cool.

Yes? Complete apples and oranges comparison.
Comparing a legal parking space to a tent and the ensuing trash, crime, and public health issues. DC liberalism at its finest.
1. Legal is what we make it to be. We could legalize pitching a tent just like we legalize parking. There’s nothing morally superior about a place to store your car over a place for a person to take shelter.
2. People in cars create a ton of trash. From detritus from car collisions that gets left around, nasty particulate from tires and brakes, emissions, people littering from out of their cars.
3. Cars are used for crimes all the time. Unfortunately, we’ve become so used to it because most of us drive above the speed limit, roll through stop signs, look at our phones, etc. and some do much worse.
4. The public health issues from car culture are staggering. Look at the risk of injury / death due to driving. It’s staggering. Not to mention health effects from breathing pollution and the sedentary lifestyles that have people driving a half mile instead of walking.
Typical smug DC conservative, thinking they are so smart but not actually challenging their assumptions.
A 4 year old child, a parent of two, the head of the WTU were all killed in car-related deaths recently in our area. How many people did tents kill? How many lives did those tents save in the cold nights this winter?

She’s absolutely incredible and she’d make a great mayor.
By "incredible" you can only mean incredibly unconcerned about keeping the city livable for her constituents, right?

Nonstarter given who the voters are right now. (Not young people passing through, but older African Americans.)
