And easily controlled.
This. I feel like part of the reason politicians are promoting recreational weed is to make the populace too languid to dissent.

It's shit like this that make me hate legalization of marijuana. Other than calling the police, what other recourse would I have? It's right near a school.
How many more threads of whiny broads whining about public consumption of MJ is this board going to have this year? Jesus Christ, yes it's annoying, but what you're really sick and tired of is actually having to be a parent and do parenting things.
Just shut up already.

You thought there'd be no aroma in a densely populated city?
No, some pothead blowing smoke right in my kid's face at the bus stop on the way to school was not part of the bargain.

That being said, if he's close to the school and it's a drug free school zone, I'd ask the cops to say something to him.
Why do we want a populace that's all drugged up and high all the time?
We prefer one that is locked up?
DP. This is not the issue and you know it. No one is suggesting that public weed smokers get locked up. I and the other PPs are simply saying that the person shouldn't be doing it at a bus stop near a school or anywhere else in public for that matter.
People seem to think they can smoke weed wherever they want now that it's been decriminalized. That's not how this works.
Jailing them would solve their homeless problem! Two birds with one stone.
It's the issue that PP raised.
I agree that many potsmokers are inconsiderate. But clearly, it IS how it works, until people start calling the police to report the nuisance. People do what they can get away with. It's wrong but that's how it is. Banks do it. Giant corporations do it. Politicians do it. And lowly potheads do it.
You don't like it, you know who to call. Posting here does nothing.
No, it's about basic decency. Most people also do not constantly spit, urinate or defecate on the sidewalk. And the answer is not jail but a juicy $100 ticket every time a pothead lights up in public.
I'm willing to bet the majority of people lighting up in public are either homeless or teenagers. Not sure what a fine or jail would do to curb that issue.

A couple days ago our kids were playing at the nearby park. A bunch of potheads moved in and basically drove everyone else out with their thick haze of weed. Whatever happened to basic decency and consideration of the people around you?!
OMG. How will your kids ever survive? That's it, time for you to move to Warrenton.

Are you new here? Every single post on DCUM "does nothing." That doesn't mean we can discuss the topic.

Call the police every time you see this until the guy stops doing it or is arrested.
