Why won't people address the massage shootings as the mental health issue rather than racism? Because you can make the same argument about Hitler who must have loved Jews bc he kept going back to his Jewish mistresses.

If he had killed six black women at a strip club and denied that he was racist (bc some of you are deeply invested in believing the claims of a mass murderer), would you believe him?

This exactly. You never hear about mental health when the perpetrator is black or Muslim or Hispanic. Just white.

It’s complicated with Muslims given the connection to religious extremism prompting some crimes.

If we had mental health courts in every community with robust community-based treatment, then we could better address the root issue.

It’s too complicated to address Muslim people’s mental health issues when they commit murders because they’re also wrapped up in religion, but in this case it’s okay? Because he’s “Christian”? Because he’s white? Because most of the victims may have been sex workers? Because most of the victims were Asian? I don’t understand how you can dismiss mental health issues in one community but insist it be addressed here, even though he was motivated by religion.

The sexual objectification and fetishization of Asian women IS racist. Why (white) people refuse to see that tells me that they are able to experience their lives as the default race - they don’t have to think about race constantly so why shouldn’t non-white people, too? I am constantly reminded of my race and of my sexuality as an Asian woman. Even if YOU don’t have to think about it, it doesn’t mean that I do not.

Need a citation for this claim. I have heard he was heading to FL to possibly commit more shootings, but nothing I have read has said anything about Asians being the target.

He said he was going to shoot up porn places. Miami Herald.
What is your point? Like, Aha! He shot up three Asian massage parlors, murdered six Asian women, but but but he’s not racist bc the fourth place he was going to shoot up wasn’t a massage parlor! Please. The dude conflated Asian women with sexual temptation. Why are people so invested in excusing this white man’s sexualized racism?

Why are you so quick to make assumptions? These are places he frequented. Maybe they are the only massage parlors he knew of that provided the services he sought. You just don't know.
I hope you are not in law enforcement. Making assumptions is not evidence.

I hope you are not in LE either bc you are a simpleton.

Ah, yes.... the resort to ad hominem attacks when your position cannot be defended.

You couldn’t find out for yourself what the killer wanted to do in FL? Someone has to Google it for you? Poor research skills?
Can’t connect the dots or don’t want to? Undereducated about issues of racism?

Read the italicized and bolded. If you are pp, and you made the claim, provide the citation. It's not that hard.

When EVERYTHING is racism, nothing is racism.

Even law enforcement have said there is not indication that this was race-motivated. The shooter had frequented these places in the past.

They are soft targets. He is familiar with the layout from previous visits. If the AMP is involved in questionable practices, they aren't going to call the police on a "creepy" customer. So he gets to fly under the radar for years.

Where is the time taken to verify that and even if true is that any walk to talk about people who have been murdered in cold blood? Feels like something about them being Asian women allows us to talk about them this way - almost like non persons.
