Adam and Eve was just a story to explain why people sin and why the world is hard and not a utopia. The significance of Jesus wasn’t that he died for others (literally any parent who loves their kids would offer to die in their place to save them). The significance was that He was willing to take on and forgive literally any sin anyone ever committed. That no one is beyond hope and forgiveness. When the world went dark as Jesus died, that is when he was separated from God and when the burden of the world was on him - all 6 million Jewish deaths, all of Stalin’a gulag deaths, all the deaths caused by evil wars and the Chinese revolution. Everything. Even Hitler or Stalin or Mao could be forgiven. And people focus too much on the ‘belief’ and asking ‘Jesus into your heart.’ That’s not what Jesus taught. He was about servant leadership, putting others first and taking care of the poor. You don’t get to be morally superior just because you got inspired at Vacation Bible School and said a special prayer. Jesus had only contempt for people who thought they were on the “right” side of religion.

That is why there will be weeping and moaning and v asking if teeth. Unbearable emotional pain is something indescribably endless. Imagine being suicidal from emotional pain and not being able to escape it even in death.
Put it in that context.
Put it in the context of someone who reads an ancient book written for ancient, mainly illiterate people who had it read to them, if they knew about it at all -- and believes it! 2,000 years later!
I do.
Do you believe in Greek mythology 6yr bc?
How about how it shaped the study of astronomy and the ability to bet on Elon musk using digital currency to send a Tesla to the moon?
You know that language changes and some things are lost in translation?
The Bible is a respected text that is validated by many others including the Torah and Qur’an
And ... astrology too
Yes, the Bible is a respected text. And it's no more to be believed in than Greek Mythology.
You’re right Anonymous, I’ll take your word as gospel instead.

I think of Jesus' torture and death as: would I go through that for other people? Even those I don't love?
To me that is what Jesus was teaching- yes you can love like that. We all can. What a wonderful world this would be if we loved each other as Jesus did.

To say that Jesus "Redeemed" humanity is to say that He saved us from ourselves - our sin, which is what separates us from God. We are all sinners - everyone of us - me, you, every DCUM reader, everyone. Sin and God cannot co-exist. So because we have it in our lives, we cannot be reunited with God, either here on earth or in the afterlife in Heaven.
Jesus took that sin, died on the cross, went to hell and rose again from the dead. He conquered sin, and death and through Him, we can have the same victory. It is the ultimate redemption because we could never be good enough or in any other way save ourselves. He is our only hope.
Why did He do it? Because God so loved us. He literally sent His Son to die for us in an attempt to get us back.
This makes zero sense.
How did he 'take the sin'? What does dying on a cross have to do with it, lots of people died on crosses back then? Rising from the dead means conquering sin?
Please elaborate on this thing you call sin. It's something that can be taken, something that can be conquered, something that everyone is, something that everyone does, and it's something that is something but cannot co-exist with God who is supposed to be a creator?
Imagine a cross is symbolic of intersecting light and dark. If people make mistakes by a mesure not in text but universal (say survival of the fittest) they die away. So, people live they’re great they’re horrible they die. But the soul still exists.
The soul has a karmic debt. Until you choose to refine your soul you inherit the sins of génèrerions before.
Jesus intercedes as half man half spirit with the authority to enter all realms, and willingly assert his free will. The deal is, people can have it if they believe.
Rhis is only the opportunity to connect. It doesn’t guarantee thriving in holiness. It means you have a path and a ticket on the bus.
It doesn’t mean you won’t be divorryrd etc etc
But it means you aren’t cast down for all of eternity because of the sins of forefathers
Christ
See Human Resources is that intersected cross
Christ in us
One path: light
The sun
No one comes except through light
It’s literally demonstrated in images we constructed and grows all things
Being fruitful
Meanwhike water in our spirit, gravity it
There is an unexplored metaphysical realm that connects and intersects faith and fact; that is why belief becomes the evidence of things hoped for
