Pre Covid they had sports until 7 homework till 11.
Yes of course they stay up late on the weekends they are not toddlers. They need to catchup on sleep so they not only sleep till 1 they nap at 4 .😂

My baby was on his own schedule until about a year or so. Why are DCUMs so controlling?
Sorry you were a slave to your baby. I hope, at some point, you were able to implement a routine, not to be controlling because everyone does better when they know what to expect.

Deciding when you kids should be up and waking them is the opposite of encouraging self-discipline

Haha. When does this start? My 11DD is awake by 7:30am
When is bedtime? Has she hit a growth spurt? My DS was a bit of a late bloomer so he started sleeping later around age 12 or 13.

Teens are 16 and 18. 18 year old was always up at 6 am as a youngster. 16 year old used to be up at 5am, every single morning. 18 year old now sleeps until 10 or 11, 16 year old now sleeps till 2 pm on weekende.
Where in the pandemic, they are doing great with their distance learning school, why would I care if they sleep late on weekends? As long as they're meeting their obligations, let them sleep!

Can your mom lend me the bugle? All my kids have to be up at 8am every day. When they pay the bills in their homes they will have earned the right to sleep as long as they want. We make our children so lazy by catering to their every preference. Who cares what time they want to wake up? No one likes to follow someone else's rules and yet self-discipline is the only path to success for those of us not born rich.

Mine sleep till noon or 1 unless they have specific plans. And - gasp - yes they stay up late playing video games on the weekends. Would you prefer rhey be smoking weed behind the high school?
Id rather them smoke weed behind the high school and go to bed by midnight than play video games all day and night until 4am.
