I still use for both of them (usually when kissing them goodnight):

And DS2 still gets:

a play on a cartoon character that's similar to his name (sort of like if his name were Michael and we called him Mikey Mouse)

I just realized I still call my 14yo “sweet pea” and “love” (somehow I shortened “lovebug“ to “love” instead of “bug”?), as well as “sunshine” in the mornings. I hadn’t even realized I was still doing this until today, after reading this thread yesterday.
Guess I’ll have to watch that when I’m around her friends!

I can't help but call our son the dreaded 'buddy', bud, buddy boo, boo boo, boober. We also call him a nickname that rhymes with his given name and various spinoffs of that. Ugh, he is going to need therapy.

My DD (11 now) thought a Honey was a person’s child. She called her dolls her Honeys because I called her honey.

That's adorable. My nine year old still role plays with "Mama" and "sweetie."

My daughter usually gets something in the flora or fauna family, a running joke now: sweet pea, pumpkin, my little eggplant, bunny rabbit...
My son only tolerates a play on his name and honey or sweetie.

I had a ladybug when she was little, but now that she's 14 and cranky, I call the cat ladybug. She objects a lot less than the 14yo.
