Yes. It is very rude and I would not wash car for a couple weeks to drive him bonkers.
I’m guessing OP has already washed her car in the 4 years since she posted.

I think it would be rude to tell your neighbor to wash your car. However, from the description of the events, it doesn’t sound like that’s what he’s doing. Maybe thought he was being helpful but it came across a bit awkwardly, but I don’t see where he told you to wash your car.

Neighbor and I share a driveway they have a white van they don’t drive that is filthy. I wish I could tell them to wash it. People are so sensitive.
