I wasn't sure my sister's marriage would get past 2 years. BIL was a spoiled, lazy adolescent and she just wanted to be married because all her friends were doing it. But, 8 years and 2 kids later - they've proven me wrong. Both did a lot of growing up and survived a couple of strong reality checks along the way. I think they appreciate each other now and seem happy.

My two best girlfriends from college both married guys I strongly disliked. One because I thought he was OCD and controlling, the other I thought would cheat. I can't say I really knew they would divorce because I wasn't sure how they were going to handle the actual marriages, but the guys had SO many red flags to me. They both married the same year and divorced 3 years later, exactly for the reasons I predicted (crazy OCD/controlling and cheating, respectively). Several years later, they are both engaged to really nice men and I don't see any of those red flags, so hopefully these marriages go the distance. I'd be sad for them if they don't work, whereas with round 1 I was supportive and sad for them but that was tempered by some serious, "thank God you have seen the light! Run, girl, run!" feelings.

Well fast forward it turns out my ex was an abusive a$$hol3 and I got a divorce too.....and I ended up marrying my friend!! He is the best person I could ever imagine being with and we will be married 15 years this summer.
