But I can recognize she's talented and can get past my annoyance of her to enjoy the movie.

She’s like Lea Michele.
What are the characteristics of an annoying theater kid?

She is a striver- people hate strivers.
In Australia/NZ there's the concept of "Tall Poppy Syndrome" and in Ireland it's called "having notions". They support their citizens working hard at sport/academics/the arts/work until they do well, then they turn around and try and knock them down to size.
One good thing about America was that it was more tolerant of people who worked hard and achieved. I guess the internet exposed America's own tall poppy syndrome against "strivers".

Agree with the annoying theater kid personality, however Lea Michelle is wacko. She’ll never have the success Anne Hathaway has achieved.

I admit I was one of those Anne H haters until I actually thought about it and there was no real reason for me to not like her. The media affects our perceptions more than we may think.
I think Jamila brings up good points, but no that's not what's happening with Anne Hathaway. She just doesn't come across well. Imagine James Franco on stage, presenting with Amanda Seyfried or Emma Stone. Works fine. but him up there with Anne Hathaway, it's off, it's awkward. Because he seems like the kind of person you can have a conversation with and relate to and like he has a sense of humor. She really, really does not seem that way. If I went to interact with her for some reason, right before speaking to her, my mind would be saying: I'm about to have a fake conversation. This person is not going to care about what I feel or think.
