It's never going to be a fair process unless they were to switch to a lottery or something -- there is so much more demand than supply, and the registration process is stressful and assumes you can take time off at 10 AM on a work day to sit in front of a computer and try to be the fastest to navigate the system.
Anonymous wrote:Well after reading this I am glad that registration is postponed tomorrow. What is insane is I can't even get a list of camps to decide which ones to register my daughters for. I keep having to open a stupid Excel file. Does anyone have a link to the descriptions of the sleep away camps?

Same here!
GS camp registration is so stressful. After having camp canceled in 2020, then registering my kids for Winona and having it canceled last year, I really hope the registrations I made today will work.
Honestly, I knew right away that today would be a disaster as soon as they announced it was on the GS platform. All of GS technology is half-baked and taped together. Too many different systems and seemingly nobody proficient running the show. It doesn't have to be this terrible.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION: Due to continual system errors with gsEvents registration, we have unfortunately made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend registration, INCLUDING this Thursday (1/13). Please fill out the following form if you would like to receive updates about when registration will resume: https://form.jotform.com/GSCNCCamping/SACinfo2022. We thank you all for your patience as we work with GSUSA to optimize this new registration system.

Last year they were able to take masks off when around only girls from their program (considered a “family” group). So they really only wore them when they were in the lodges or sharing an outdoor activity space with another group, or all-camp activities. My daughter said it ended up being really no big deal.
