If it's true you have glasses, then I doubt you spend much time outside. Particularly doing anything that gets your breathing rate up. Otherwise you quite literally won't be able to see in front of yourself.

I not only wear glasses, I wear progressives. giant ones. Believe me I understand. I still keep my mask on. Some of them I’ve sound wires into and some of them I just deal with fog until I’m alone and can adjust it. Some people I know use a little double stick tape. That's true. We've said something to a dude who was deliberately destroying a habitat at a National park, and he attempted to fight my husband.

In a similar vein, wearing a mask in public is a sign of civilized behavior, refusing to wear a mask may be a sign of mental health issues.

Nope. Look in the mirror to see what's causing schools to stay closed. Life has risks. When people are acting rationally, they mitigate the risks as well as they reasonably can, accept what's left, and move on with their lives.

If I am out for a walk I don’t wear a mask. When I am standing around talking to other parents while DC are playing, I wear a mask.

That said, I walked a friend’s dog over the weekend with my kids. We were walking and there was a playground on our route. No one was there when we got there so kids played. Two families came and one said something to us about not wearing masks. I explained the situation (didn’t know about the playground and no one else there). I ignored the next round of self righteous comments and we left a few minutes later. Life is to short for the haters. We wear
masks except to walk outdoors.

Why is it important to anyone what you are doing outside? I keep my mask on my face as a courtesy and for my own and my community's safety. There are times when you might find yourself closer to people than they or you are comfortable with. If you were to sneeze without your mask on during those 3 seconds, are your germs getting a memo - "this lady is only walking her dog, and they were close less than 3 seconds, so we gotta not make this other person sick." Stuff happens, and people don't want to take risks for losing their lives, health, and livelihood. Is that hard to understand?

It's hard to unpack fear, you are correct, but apparently, it's harder to unpack selfishness.

I deal with it by pulling my mask down. I’m not walking around outdoors blind. I have a big nose and it’s impossible to get a good mask fit around the nose, so my glasses always fog up when I’m walking outside. I am not appeasing loonies who are afraid of my breath when I’m over 6 ft away outdoors and pass them for a fraction of a second.

Second, there are different kinds of “outside” scenarios, just as the indoor ones.

If you are in the woods by yourself or on an empty street - by all means, I don’t see how a mask is necessary.

If you are in a crowd but outside, on a full playground blocking the way - it’s just reasonable to wear a mask to protect others from your spit.

DP than you responded to, where are your sources that COVID spreads outdoors? You can’t because there aren’t any! I am a medical professional and a mask wearer. I find it very disingenuous when randoms get online and spew unsubstantiated claims. With that said, wear a mask.

Where are your sources that it does not? It's weird to claim something random, and ask others to provide sources to disprove it. "Outdoors" has to be somehow operationalized and differentiated, because it's a very wide and vague term that can be misinterpreted. You may be a medical professional, but you are jot a researcher.

I've been harassed 3 times out walking my dog for not wearing a mask. Walking my dog!
