Banneker and Tech are no competition.

Anonymous wrote:This massively advantages DCPS kids, which is maybe the point? DCPS had crazy grading rules during the pandemic, which basically made getting not an A for a remotely diligent kid hard. Privates and charters, including popular feeders like BASIS, did not have those same policies.

Same for the B/C students at every DCPS MS.

Interesting. This process will disadvantage Basis 8th graders because they are taking harder classes than their peers and don't benefit as much from grade inflation. The result will probably be more Basis 8th graders staying on for 9th grade.

It is my understanding that DCPS middle schools do not have "honors" (officially) (Even it they did it won't matter.)....in the Walls GPA calculation an A in 7th grade ELA will count the same as an A in pre-AP ELA.
In addition, an A in Spanish (full year) will count the same as an A in Algebra I or World History/Geography or Science.
A Walls Administrator said if it is on the transcript it will be included in the GPA calculation. It will not be limited to CORE Only.
A is 4.0
A- is 3.7
B+ is 3.3
B is 3.0
Wow, they are not going to look at what the class was--like colleges do? That's crazy
