All these mentions are leading me to assume it gets you high somehow.

HA! DC bakes a lot and swears by it over the cheaper imitation stuff I pick up at the grocery store.

Since I love to read, an Amazon gift šŸŽ card would be ideal so I could purchase some brand-new books.

This gift would really be great since our public libraries our currently closed.

My dad passed a bunch of years ago - he always gave the gifts that we rolled our eyes at....
Over the years I have taken it upon myself to give gifts to my family "From Dad"
- a reflective vest for your car
- the tool that cuts the seatbelt / breaks the window
- crank flashlight / radio

Other practical gifts I like:
- New cozy blankets for the watching TV (these get so much use in our house)
- Popcorn toppings (my kids LOVE these)
- Flavored Olive Oils
- replacement college sweatshirts (my husbands is really ratty)
- Great umbrellas (our golf sized ones need replacement)
- New bath towels
- Hat with headlight for walking at dusk / in the morning (cars just do not see you)

I agree with this. Also, I appreciate useful gifts that are things I didn't know existed, like a friend who gave me a cup for my morning smoothies and a straw brush. I had no idea that straw brushes were a thing.

My spouse bought us a roomba last Christmas. It sits unused in the closet. I do not want to have to empty it all the time, and it would automatically fall to me. Do not give a gift that requires the person to do more work.

Gifts I’ve gotten and appreciated ...

-Something I use a lot but never think to replace - like dish clothes or oven mitts or measuring cups set

-Something that the giver liked that I’d never think to buy (like Tervis glasses or the pineapple corer/slicer or silicon cutting boards)

-A gratitude journal

- over priced or gourmet food items...like truffle salt or Newsky bacon

I bought my MIL

I might be off base, but I don’t think this is legal.

And if you can buy a MIL, does that mean you can also return one? Asking for a friend.
