just to add to the case against the horrible owner of this camp. Not only does he not pay his staff. Thankfully international staff are protected from this with agency protection. He is also emotionally abusive and does not care for his staff's wellbeing. He gaslights his staff, causes multiple staff panic attacks and mental breakdowns due to the intense nature of the job. He didn't let a counsellor go home for a few days after being attacked by a child the last time I was there! He has a very dominating presence and uses this to intimidate his staff. He treats his staff like campers, does not talk to us as adults and patronises us. It is shame because he has a real opportunity to contribute to the professional development of young women. On return from camp I started my first job after college and I was so surprised at how nice my boss was. I thought it was normal to shudder with fear every time your boss walks by. this is NOT normal. do not support camp rim rock unless it is under new ownership.

But who is going to work there when they didn’t get paid last summer?

Do you understand how bankruptcy works??? They’ll be IN it for years - but who
he/the camp owes money to will have been settled by the court. They will be required to make payments to resolve those they owe money to as long as claims were made. Of course it is terrible if true that there’s still staff not paid but if they’ve entered into bankruptcy the debt is enumerated and the slate is effectively wiped clean (again assuming they make the ordered payments.)

We are sad and disappointed that Joe has made such a horrible mess of this but as tough as it is you almost have to
hope now that the camp does come back or no one gets paid ever.

Just called my credit card regarding my $4,200 pre-payment for 2021 at the end of last August. Looks like they will credit my account! I filed the bankruptcy claim last month, but am doubtful anything will come of that. I assume the credit card company now becomes a creditor in my place.

My daughter loves Aloha Hive in Vermont and will return there. She went to Rimrock in 2020 for the first time since her Vermont camp was cancelled, and loved it too (and had planned to return). The Aloha camps are over 100 years old, very well run by a non-profit. There are 2 girls camps, one for younger girls (Aloha Hive), and one for older (Aloha), as well as a boys camp (Lanakila). It's pricey, but they are committed to providing scholarships to kids who otherwise couldn't attend. They also have a family camp that we're going to try this summer for the first time. I don't think they'll be offering riding this summer though due to covid. (Normally, that's an add-on anyway). We love the drive there, and exploring the great places around the camp as well. (King Arthur Flour, Simon-Pearce, etc.) https://alohafoundation.org

Urghhh ! To other past Rim Rock campers - looking at WHERE when now it can be anywhere!! 12 yo - ideally a month. I’d describe her as a generalist - generally happy to do whatever! Any more ideas of where your CRR daughter going to this summer ?

So funny! My daughter has done both CRR and TPE as well. She is now a TPE alum, but if she were still in MS or HS, I am sure she would be going to TPE sleepaway camp this summer.
