Is this Trump's attempt at a coup, I wonder? He's surronding himself with "loyalists", and come Jan. 20, when he refuses to leave the WH, the military will be on his side.

Because he is a spiteful malignant narcissist. There is no 4-D chess. He just took a sh#t on the board.
He either really believes he won and so he is surrounding himself with "yes" sychophant men, or he knows it's a lost cause but it's basically his version of "cancel culture".
Either way, I'm so glad he lost. We need a sane, real leader in the WH. We just need to tough it out for another six or seven weeks.

All of the recent DOD political appointees are hacks. They had a solid group of technocrats, and dumped them for being 'disloyalists.' There is no-one left who's qualified to be running the show, except maybe Norquist, but he has no power now. It's unsettling.

Also, other than being famous for being the pilot depicted in Behind Enemy Lines, he has absolutely no experience. After he got out of the military and wrote his book, he spent the following 20 years on a speaker circuit. The closest he's gotten to working in DoD is maybe being a keynote speaker at an event
