I despise Trump and am a life-long Democrat. But I can't bear to listen to CNN either. It's just as annoying as Fox, but less evil. I ask my husband not to watch CNN in the living room if he can help it.

Nah. Someone more competent will be appealing to the same base. It’ll be someone like Ted Cruz, except smart enough not to act like a McCarthy-wannabe.

Also, to be clear, he was supposed to be taking a nap. I did not consider CNN particularly liberal until it was made so by Fox News over the past four years, and I was not watching commentary. Was watching Biden address the nation after RBGs passing, and the rest of DHs family, including his mother, was watching with me.

Yes, fair. DH is an unenthusiastic Biden voter who probably would not have voted at all if I didn’t care. Doesn't support trump, thinks he’s an idiot, but is not as incited as I’d hope on moral grounds. Could be better, could be worse. He basically thinks his dad is older and isn’t going to change so there’s no point in trying.

Of course it's not just politics. It's white supremacy/racism, sexism, and homophobia - at the very least a lack of human decency and compassion for those different from yourself.
This is two sided, however - you cannot dictate what channel is being watched in someone else's home, and they cannot dictate "no politics" in your home. Tell them to feel free not to come.
