Because Op loves the name and the baby is already born so a moot point..

I like the name Sarah but hate the name Sadie. Why name a child "Sadie"? It sounds like a sad person.

Our daughter’s nickname is different from her given name, and it can be a real pain especially, like Sarah nn Sadie, both her names are recognized as given names in their own right (unlike nicknaming a kid Peanut or something). I don’t think it’s weird for one to have the nn and not the other, just know that the “going by a nickname” can have drawbacks.

Can Sadie be her first name and Sarah her middle?

Sadie Sarah sounds ridiculous.

It’s like naming a child Izzy Isabella or Liza Elizabeth. Come on. No.

I don’t think it’s weird.

If you want both to have nicknames, Caddie is a nickname for Caroline. I learned that from the book Caddie Woodlawn.

Sarah (Sadie) and Caroline are here! We went with the original place.

The only opinion that matters is Caroline's. If she wants a nickname like her sister later on, she can come up with one, and you can start call her that.
