Some people like to fight and if you stoop to their level you may be giving them EXACTLY what they want. Ignoring her will give her the opposite of what she's look for and it will help you move on.
Nailed it. Definitely ignore, OP. It will make them upset, but let's face it, anything (insert arbitrary and innocuous "chosen" person here) does is going to send crazy over the edge. Like PP so eloquently put it,
some people have psychiatric problems, and like to fight, they have an imaginary "score" to settle.
Bingo! Neighbor is quite the Negative Nancy and is her mood is actually upbeat when she's fighting but miserable when people won't engage with her.
To me it's nuts, why put your energy into something like fighting when you could put that same energy into a myriad of forms of self improvement?
Don't move, OP, just put your energy into moving on.
