I have a kid in an under-enrolled self-contained who will most likely get a spot, and didn't get any email either, so there's hope. Hang in there!

EVERYTHING should have been on hold till they figure out how to get these kids back in person. In September.

We are in the same situation (Murch). I can't figure out how DC missed out on a spot given the school's priority group profile and the profile of our kid.


I would be on the phone on Monday asking that question to the coordinator of special education at Murch. How can they say that they are providing FAPE to your child when most children at Murch with IEPs will be in person and your child will not be.

I believe all IEPs are ranked the same, at least according to my Principal.


They are. It doesn’t matter if there’s 15 minutes of 15 hours on an IEP. If a kid had an iep on 10/5, they get preference but I also learned there is no preference among groups- all groups hold the same weight. I also have students with an IEP who are rocking DL and some who have a 504 who are drowning. I wish they let the schools make this choice, but understand that opens a can of worms.

I am sorry. If we hadn't got a spot I was going to start private tutoring - is that an option, I can't feel happy about my spot knowing so many children need it as much or more than mine and yet for no reason at all get nothing. Why no hybrid?!

My job is here but if it wasn't I'd consider moving.

What school? I’d be surprised if SWS is the only school that hasn’t been notified yet.

Do you know what Hearst grades? Principal sent a note today that not all grades would have in-person classes because of how small the school is, but didn’t say which grades.


Actually, it was “because of staff availability” and I also assume it’s because at grades have only two classes.
