Did you by any chance send your child to Emory's engineering program?

I am PP. I am now going to take my victory lap.

In what context is rust belt lower Mid-Michigan beautiful? University of Colorado, Boulder with the Rockies or Pepperdine and University of California, Santa Barbara overlooking the Pacific Ocean are beautiful. Even Georgetown could also be described as beautiful with such charming historic surroundings; Victorian and gothic architecture. But not Ann Arbor. And Michigan's weather sucks most of academic year; the greyest most sunless region in the U.S.

Thanks for providing a picture that shows Ann Arbor is located in, “the greyest most sunless region in the US.” You can’t even troll properly. Check out Alaska and the northwest if you want to see grey skies and little sun.

Nobody is trolling. That photo is summer in Ann Arbor, which is not during the academic school year. Here's Ann Arbor during the school year. Enjoy the rust belt!

That photo could be taken in the vast majority of America. Like I said, give it up already!

Michigan is top 3 fastest dying states in the nation. The weather blows and the lawmakers are literally trying to bribe stem grads to remain in state after graduation. Why would a kid waste their prime in the rust belt? It’s a big country and Michigan sure as shit ain’t an Ivy League college with elite cachet.

Incorrect. The three states losing population the fastest are New York, Illinois, and Louisiana.

Michigan resident here. It has been a 60 year slide from Detroit having the highest per capita income in America to what it is now. 40% of college grads leave because unless you are in manufacturing or healthcare, much better opportunities elsewhere. It's kind of sad that a giant industry was managed into the ground.

On NO planet is Maryland Law better than Michigan Law. You couldn’t get into Michigan if your life depended on it.

On NO planet is Maryland anything better that Michigan anything. UMD gives merit to top kids to convince them to dump UVA and go there. A lot of kids that attend Michigan from VA choose to ignore that and go to Michigan.

I mean.. Virginia Tech has almost caught up with UMD in rankings and Rutgers and Ohio State are ahead. That's the league UMD plays in.

Call us when your water supply dries up.

Or better yet, call Wisco booster. Wisco booster actively wants your kids' applications.

Wow, looks like a half an inch of snow in the pic. Better get out the dogsled.

Detroit/AnnArbor winters are rarely brutal any more. And if you don’t like it, then stay on the coast. We love your money, but can do without the attitude.

You can’t be serious. UMich has one of the top law schools in the country. UMD does not.

OP is talking about undergrads.
