Yes, really. I would probably mask up and go stay with the children at their own home, work out getting the children tested, and then come up with a plan with DH based on their results. I'm 29yo with no pre-existing conditions or other high risk factors. I've thought about this a lot as I do have some extremely close friends without family around and I'm confident I would do this for them if needed.

Are you kidding. Of course we would. I'm less worried about covid than kids going into random foster care. It's so much less traumatic for the kids to stay within their community.
Really, people have lost all sense of proportion.

You've moved far away from family and friends that you had figured out on the first day the kids were born would take care of your kids if something happened to you. Its an emergency situation. Let's say a car accident where both parents are now in a coma. What happens to your kids? How does the hospital figure out who to call when the kids are so young? Is it written down somewhere in your wallet?

Do either you or your spouse work? I have coworkers who would help out. I know I would help out my coworkers in this situation.
Also, agree with joining a religious community if you are open to it.

Yes, I lost so much sleep over this in March/April before I could finally put it out of my mind. One thing I kept getting stuck on is if the kids test positive they can’t go to family, but can they even go to foster care? I couldn’t work out a solution so we’ve been extremely cautious.
