Um, there are 22 more days until the election (and 16 more days with the polls open). I don't know why so many people are trying to vote on the first day the polls open.
Really? Don't you know why?
A vote today counts the same as a vote on October 28 or November 3. But if people prefer to wait in line, then that is their choice.

“Voter suppression,” my a$$. Plenty of voters - of ALL races - have waited in line for hours to vote, across the country. As the PP said, if you want to vote early on the very first day, be prepared for a long wait. Early voters in Fairfax waited hours too. Was that “suppression”? The constant victimhood mentality is beyond exhausting.
What does voter suppression look like to you? You know damn well why these lines look like they do, in the precincts they are in, populated by the people they are. You know. You just don't care.
In order for there to be a victim, there has to be an aggressor. If you're tired of hearing about victimhood, maybe ask your party to stop trying to deny people their rights?
Voting is not a privilege, it is a right. We should be actively working to remove any and all roadblocks to exercising that right.
Are you implying that the only people having long waits are black? If so, you are remarkably uninformed. You should be embarrassed.

I don't think you get it, and that is your privilege.
These precincts ALWAYS have lines because they have 2 or 3 voting machines for 100,000+ people. Waiting until election day means not getting to vote at all. It is great that YOU happen to have a precinct where you can vote, that is accessible and minimal lines. That isn't what it looks like in minority precincts in majority GOP states and counties.
You are incorrect. All the news reports I have seen state that the delays today are due to high turnout.

when we see long lines in the boondocks in Virginia then we can talk. for some reasons lines tend to be more pronounced in urban areas, which tend to lean dem.
after the SCOTUS decision on the voting rights act, scores of polling stations were closed all over the South, predominantly in areas with Black and Latino communities : https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/09/12/report-court-ruling-caused-mass-voting-place-closures-southern-u-s/2272866001/
victimhood my a$$. at least have the decency to look at reality.

Um, maybe because Indigenous People's Day (or Columbus Day as they still call it in GA) is a state/fed holiday there. Maybe these folks are taking advantage of the one day where they won't miss work or have to burn leave to vote.
I absolutely hate it when Democrats refer to black people as “folks.”![]()

The lines will only get worse in some areas. I mean imagine having to wait 3-5 hours to vote. Portable oxygen lasts 5-6 hours, not long enough for someone to change waiting around that long. Pregnant women have increased hydration and urination requirements. Some people cant be on their feet that long, some people have shift work, some people need childcare to vote. It should not take that long ever to cast your vote. Stop finding a reason for why the people voting are at fault and look at the systems.
Aren’t all of those excuses the reason why we had unlimited mail-in voting this year? If you have an issue with standing in line, mail it in. Is there anything you people DON’T complain about?

No lines in Buckhead, a pp said. Maybe he or she can provide the source.
15 machines there, as opposed to 6 in more diverse precincts. It's been true in the past and Georgia.
That's suppression.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So, lines to vote 3 WEEKS ahead of election day is now voter suppression?
You people are ridiculous.
People are lining up for hours weeks ahead of election day because they know their state is trying to take away their vote. What you are seeing is the mix of actual voter suppression - limited polling stations; few working machines - with the reaction to that suppression.
That's why people are lining up for hours this far ahead of an election. Because they know that the GOP is doing what it can to take away their vote, and they are saying NO.
Sure.
Buckhead - no lines, 15 machines.
see the difference?
