The dress was fine, but come on, someone bought that for her. There are gazillions of dollars being spent to make sure she gets confirmed and I'm sure some of that is going toward her wardrobe.

Well, if my face was plastered on the screen up close in front of millions of people....and I understood the power of visual media and how the pictures and footage will live on indefinitely as part of the nation's historical record as well as being referenced in my obituary, I think it would be one of the times in my life that I would want to look very polished and classic and yes, like I just left the salon. I am in the minority here but I think she should have worn a very tailored and well made suit. I don’t think this dress, as pretty as it was, captured the gravitas of this moment and I am not sure it will stand the test of time. I may be wrong.

I thought it was too casual. There are few occasions more professional than a hearing to be confirmed as a Supreme Court justice. Wear a dang suit.

I heard about The Fold London on DCUM a while back and looked it up and though I can tell it's well made and has nice fabrics and is expensive, it is all just dowdy AF to me and I really dislike it. But seems about right for ACB.

I like the colors, fabrics, and coverage (finally, dresses with sleeves). But I’m not a fan of the folds and twists all over their stuff. It seems a little tchotchke to me. But it’s hard to find a great professional dress that checks all the boxes.

Eh, I don't know about that. I think that she is willing to allow Covid to spread uncontrolled in the Senate in order to get a job she wants...and one that she knows the majority of the American people don't want her to have, otherwise she'd push for a post-election confirmation.

Regardless, though, I think her clothes are fine. They fit well, and I'm kind of digging the Fold style for a DC professional. But, as I posted upthread, she really needs to get her colors done. That berry color makes her look awful.

Female lawyer here too and I cannot imagine not wearing a dark suit to this hearing.

But OTOH, maybe props to her for moving beyond the expected, traditional, male-oriented fashion prescriptions?
