What does "ban" mean to you? Like are you planning on actually having any punishments when people ignore you? If so, what are they and why aren't you enforcing them now for people who are carrying non-registered/illegal guns? And if you just plan on arresting people and then releasing them the next day, what good do you think that will do?

It’s actually very simple. All we need is a bounty offered to the public to turn in others - people they know who are possessing guns after they are outlawed - and this ceases to be a problem.

If people could get a $5,000 reward for the arrest of someone who had a gun, they’d be falling all over themselves to report them. That’s how you fix this. Ban them all, then offer huge financial incentives to turn in noncompliant people.

The people that arrested get an automatic life sentence in prison or some kind of institutional colony, permanently removing them from society. Pick a undesirable location, somewhere out west maybe where nobody lives, and create a penal colony. Stick them all there. Let them toil doing menial physical labor or whatever, and if they try to escape, execute them. Such penal colonies have been used previously for hundreds of years as a means for countries to dispose of their undesirables who are a threat a civilized society. Read some some history.

All it takes is the national will to do it. Hopefully we’re headed that way.

Those MPD notices are clearly not designed to share information with the public. If you look at them side by side you can see that they are pre template and cut and paste responses with minimal information to meet a legal requirement. There is no actual useful information for the public on what to be on the lookout for. Those posts are purely legal requirements. MPD has very little interest in your being involved in their investigation if they are even conducting one. Right now they are waiting for someone to call them up and either confess or say that their boyfriend did it.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2020, in the 5200 block of Western Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 7:39 pm, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. Additionally, a second adult male victim was located in Montgomery County, MD, and transported to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Tavon Brown, of Baltimore, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 23 year-old Alexander Nwogu, of Blacksburg, VA.

Sound reasoning! Just like drugs, right? I've never seen any of those pesky things around. You know, there was not a single year between middle school and college that I could not obtain, from a friend of a friend, weed, LSD, ecstasy, and I would assume other drugs. If I recall these were all "banned"

You should stop trying to use logic and evidence. The ban the guns crew just don’t want to hear it. They think life is magic and criminals are compliant. They don’t understand that someone who is willing to kill someone else doesn’t care about laws or society, so change all the laws you want. It won’t matter to them. They will still get a gun and they will still kill.

How many children under 16 have died this summer during the peaceful protests?

I guess when two black men kill an innocent young man his black life simply doesn't matter. Wish some gun toting thug was gunned down while running towards the police with a firearm then we'd get some action.

No one is celebrating anyone being killed whether they are the victims of criminals or wayward cops. Just keep in mind that the people who want more cops in their neighborhoods aren't afraid of being shot by those same cops. There are a lot of neighborhoods where law abiding people actually fear cops because no matter what the situation, cops will escalate the danger.
