You fired her because she was sick and had a family emergency? But then didn't tell her you were firing her right away (hence delaying her ability to find another job)? And you didn't want to pay her for one of the days she worked (with some sort of weird justification that it was okay because you paid her for a day you agreed she would work and then ended up deciding not to use her that day)? And her pay was $100 a day, which is outrageously low unless it was a very short day?

I hope this is made up. Otherwise you are a horrible person.

You only owed her $100 for a day of work? Did she only work 4-5 hours? Or were you paying her as little money as possible and paying cash because you are too cheap or too poor to actually afford a nanny?

OP, you are a trash can human. You are too cheap/broke to pay decently, you were planning to be a tax evader if this nanny had continued to work for you, and you threw a temper tantrum over paying the nanny for the work she did, which was only a grand total of $100.

Go sit in time out and think about how to be a decent adult.

What the f does she have to be understanding about?? That she was hired by a cheap employer trying to not follow the laws?

Yeah I mean nannies are just objects right??? She should bow down and kiss your feet being thankful she has a job.

I feel sorry for your children

Please don’t produce more! There’s enough screwed up kids in the world

Are you asking if she should get paid for the 4 days she missed for XYZ? What does your contract you have with her say?

Haha you think this op and nanny had a contract?

Highly doubt it.

Op sounds like a peach. I’m sure nannies are lining up outside your door at this moment to come get your cheap ass cash job.

You should do it because it's the right thing to do. But, you should also know that there are significant penalties for you as an employer if you don't pay. If she complains to the Department of Labor, you are screwed.

Also, as I sense this may need to be said, pay any taxes and worker's comp you owe.

OP here. It’s a cash position.

Oh of course it was.

Can we all just repeat you get what you pay for.

Please OP don’t have any more children. Put however many you have in daycare and be done.

People like you are the first the complain about a nanny but yet you can’t even pay legally

You’re childish and unprofessional. She has a life, bills to pay, and you guys are ghosting her? Pay her before she takes you to small claims, you’ll owe interest on what you owe her. I agree with everyone in this thread, karma is unkind and you’ll never find a good nanny treating them this way.

It’s annoying?! You think she’s enjoying texting you demanding rightful payment?!!! You are the annoying one, OP.
