My sister was not allowed to gender-select her embryos. She’s having her third IVF baby and found out the same way the rest of us do - ultrasound.
Weird! Also odd these days to find out via ultrasound and not NIPT testing. Sounds like an old school practice.

It absolutely is not. Have you seen what college costs? One round of IVF is not 300k.

No, I was lucky to be able to have kids at all. I will admit even despite two years of primary infertility, I was disappointed my first was a boy. If I was only going to have one, I really wanted a girl. When trying for number two, I still wanted my girl but thought my son would go better with a younger brother, so I was fine either way. We ended up having one of each.

I would have gone to four if my first three were the same sex, but I always wanted 3-4 kids. I wouldn't have gone past than the number of kids I felt comfortable with and could afford, just for that. We ended with 3.

I had three kids always wanting a daughter but ended up with three sons. My brother had three kids always wanting a son but ended up with three daughters. I don't think either of us willing to gamble on a fourth. I have a friend who kept trying to have a son and he ended up with SIX daughters and finally a son on the seventh try. I guess he thought his luck had finally changed because they tried to have another boy and ended up with an eighth child who was another daughter.
