OP you are careless and clueless. I'll give you two examples of bites that people laughed off as "no big deal" that required trips to the doctor.

A friend of mine was bitten by a cat. Not a huge bite but it did break the skin in one place. He required a cast and antibiotics for a while because cat bites are very nasty and he got an infection right away.

My BIL was bitten by a child that I babysat. The child was horsing around and bit him (broke the skin). He also required antibiotics because the wound got infected.

Any time there is a bite you should take it seriously. Your dog will do this again and most certainly isn't sweet.

You should have checked on him, provided vaccination proof, and offered to pay his bill if he decides to get checked out at the ER (he more than likely has insurance since he works for UPS). I wouldn’t blame him for reporting a dog bite.

Look into an annual insurance policy that covers your dog in relation to other people (bites, etc.) and other weird, random incomings you could potentially experience in life. We have one of these policies, they aren't that expensive, and they provide peace of mind. It's just smart to have one.
