Agreed...the moves could go either way...but is having two legit teams what Next Level is planning? To play in NGLL? In competitive tournaments? It seemed to me based on this thread that Bethesda was putting the girls against tough competition while Next Level was still considering how to break into two teams?

MC Elite has a full 2027 team. Nobody left that team for next level because travel doesn’t start for MC Elite until 2027.

They better or they will have a huge fallout of kids leaving - apparently people are already investigating switching since they were told there would be too teams. I come from a softball background but even I know that roster is ridiculous. Parents are not happy - this is not what they thought was the situation (two teams - an A and a B is what was being sold) so hopefully things will change.

With that many girls, they probably should just give them the whole field for practice. I bet they break them up into two teams come spring.

That is a bit of a predictable pattern- sometimes there is a really good, young Montgomery County based team, but pretty quickly the more traditionally strong programs start pulling away; building solid teams across years and teams (A&B). I guess there are many reasons for this shift, including some players deciding to make the drive, but it comes back to the programs and coaching here. There are great, athletic girls who want to play here and it seems harder than it should be!

They were probably the best 2027 team in states of MD, VA and PA last year. This year they seem to have dropped a level. They could not beat either Hero’s or M&D in the fall HoCo league and are now entering tournaments in different brackets than Hero’s and M&D. They were in a lower bracket for the Chesapeake Invitational and will be the same for the Midatlantic Showcase.

There are some factually and obviously false statements in here. Particularly the one about roster size. I think only the NL 2027s have a large roster and while I admittedly don’t know the details, my suspicion is that they picked up a lot of kids leaving MC. But I am also growing increasingly skeptical with this comparison where NL is inferior to BLC. Just looking at fall results, and considering that BLC currently terminates at 2025, I would need someone to point to me where they are objectively dominant over NL. They have one obviously good team, but even the much vaunted BLC 2027 seems to have dropped a level. After that, some years BLC might be better but others NL are better.
