For men it is particularly important. Many women do not want to even date short men. My minimum requirement was 6'. I married 6'3"

I don't care about my daughter. I don't believe that height is correlated to success in women.
Of course I realize all of this is out of my control.
i've read it somewhere going to bed early/not staying up late during growth years makes a not insignificant difference.
My 14 year old son is 6'1 and goes to sleep around midnight/1 am on a good day. 1 to 3 am on a meh day and 5 am on a bad day.

As for why, it's hard to be taken seriously, when you lack a physical presence. TBH, shorter women have to be considerably more assertive to make themselves heard, which then of course gets you labeled as aggressive/bitchy. Clothes shopping is a nightmare, as pants especially, have to be altered to fit. There are very few sports where being short is an advantage. One of the few positives I've been able to glean so far, is that people always underestimate how old you are.

5’7 female here. Being tall is an advantage for boys, but I always got unfairly screwed because of it.
I’m young though. Tall women older than me often say that they used to hate it, and now love it.
I dont really think a 5'7" woman is tall. I'm 5'9" and what I would call tall-ish, I think tall for women is over 5"10. isnt' 5'5" average? To me 5'3" to 5'7" feels average, middle of the bell curve
What you said, in itself, is not a problem, but the moment chosen was quite catty. I know my story, and your dismissive passive aggression was uncalled for.

DP. How tall are you and your DH? Just curious.
I'm just shy of 5'7, dh shy of 6"0. We don't know of any especially tall people on either side of the family. I suspect he will taper off soon as his rate of growth has been slowing lately.
