Same. Got it when we had au pairs and an extra car for their use. Now still using it.
New poster. Have used AAA for about 30 years, I figure. They have:
Towed me from the side of I-95 when I was miles from anywhere
Jump-started batteries
Replaced a dead battery with a new one on the spot (twice over the years!)
Unlocked my car when I had locked the keys inside it
Towed me from other places around the area, always to wherever I wanted them to take the car
You get a certain number of free service calls, not unlimited ones, and one year with an aging car, I used up that year's free tows etc.! But they came, every time. I think once I had to wait 90 minutes when I was somewhere remote. Otherwise? 30 to 45 minutes tops.
And OP, this is important to me and is the reason I'll give my DD the gift of an AAA membership: They are trained, when you call, to ask you: "Are you in a safe place?" They want to know if the caller is stranded in a location where the caller feels unsafe. Sometimes in the flustered moments of realizing your car isn't working, it's easy not to focus on non-emergency but red flag things like "Wait, this area seems sketchy/it's getting dark quickly/I don't know exactly where I am in this unfamiliar area." The question makes you stop and pause a second to consider if the surroundings seem safe. I have always said I was in a safe location but I figure that if the caller told them, no, I'm not feeling safe, they would stay on the line with you while they let police know where you were and/or expedited a AAA service provider. I really like that they ask you that very early in the conversation.
