What if it’s not a brief fleeting interaction?
You don't let it become longer! Holy cow, how did you survive to adulthood?!
You do realize folks are walking in neighborhoods or in a cafe setting with no mask thinking they’re distanced, but realistically not? The idea that being outside makes it ok ALL the time is a real mindset for many.
(I wasn’t asking for myself btw)
Oh, well. Find a real problem.
I swear, this entire panic smacks of UMC women who final found something to live for.

Your observations are not reality.
They are, actually. I have friends in rural America who don't have time for this crap because they're trying to afford groceries and shoes for their kids.
Hey, guess what. I’m not upper middle class, live in DC and my job is shut down until the numbers go way down. So I need everyone to wear a mask when they’re near other people. my kid needs food too. And going to Goodwill right now makes me too nervous so we could definitely use some shoes as well. Rural America needs to wear a mask also. Just because it’s not a hotspot where they are right now doesn’t mean it won’t be because they’re blowing this off. Look at Texas.

I haven't gotten it, including six flights without a mask (got on and pretended to sleep) and eating out with friends once a week. The risk is overblown. Please see a therapist to deal with your hypochondria.
Wow! Talk about selfish!
Why? I don't have it.
How often are you tested? How do you know you haven't had it at any time while flying?
1% of Americans have had it. Far fewer at any given point in time. Chill.
I am quite chill, thank you, this was my first post on the thread. You know 1% means 1 out of 100 right? Anyhow, my point is not about risk assessment it was a specific point calling you out for saying you don't (didn't) have it when in fact this is impossible to know (unless you're doing regular testing .) Learn.
I work in risk assessment, thanks. You should pick up a textbook.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I have a genuine question for the outdoor mask enthusiasts. Do you *actually* think that you’re going to get covid walking past someone on the sidewalk? Or more than 6 feet away in a park? Or from a runner? Or is this some kind of suffering olympics where you just think people who are willing to walk/run/bike in 90 degree heat with a mask on are just better people?
This is my question too.
I wear mask in public to signal to other people and my kids that I am not an oblivious idiot, that I respect the fact that we are in a middle of pandemic which literally means "prevalent everywhere", and that I am civil member of a society. Mask burden is not high. I also do not pick my nose nor do I produce noxious farts in public for the above mentioned reasons.
