Relative dates are posted. Amazing the utter nonsense people post here assuming FCPS hasn't already pushed out the message themselves. Though I agree FCPS could just publish an email blast noting the AAP testing for 1st and 2nd graders and how it may/may not change. The lack of transparency causes all kinds of rumor mills and then parents stress out.
Look at this carefully! The NNAT is ONLY administered if NO previous scores. And there is NO mention of CoGats. Read the chart and requirements.

Yeah, they are not
They also cannot give the tests virtually because parents will just cheat.
So, ergo, no tests for AAP
Yes, 1st and 2nd graders will be in the building in October. Only half of them, though, so no Cogat.
Yup. There is no way to force children to come into the building to take the test. And you can say that there is no access to AAP if you don’t take the test in person during a pandemic.
This is going to be a test optional year folks. Just toss all of those prep workbooks and courses and let your kids play outside

My other child got a 117 on the NNAT and a 142 on the cogat.
So sometimes the NNAT is not an accurate test for some kids.
They are not going to use only NNAT. Reading test (iReady) report cards, GBRS, work samples will also be used. Why worry?

Anonymous wrote:That doesn’t make any sense. Why would they offer the NNAT to first graders but not the CogAT to 2nd graders?
