Last week was my first week and while the coffee cake was great, we don't need a weekly cake. Trying butter and a produce box this week. I'll add in a cheese and milk to hit the delivery minimum but I still have eggs, honey, and cheese from last week. The milk was good but not AMAZING.

You should cancel and give someone on the waitlist a shot.

FTR, we are in a pandemic and a lot of people are rordering more via SMC. I am one of them. I haven't gotten my two dozen eggs -- only 1 for months. I am fine with that and they don't charge me for it. Sure my account says I will get that but I get there are shortages.

Wow, could you be any more of a b!tch? Go ahead. Try a little harder.

I’m the PP you are responding to that had a subpar SMC initiation - but I agree with the poster that responded to you. Of course I understand that we are in a pandemic. That’s why I tipped extra and was really patient both times I talked to SMC. However - I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect delivery of items that are not out of stock and that I was charged for! Surely you can understand that not receiving and not being charged (which you said was your experience) is different than not receiving and actually being charged?? Smh.

I hate to say it, but don’t get too excited. This week was my first delivery. I ordered ten items, including two coffee cakes because I have a big family. On delivery day, I received notification that they were out of one item. Based on that, I expected the remaining items I ordered to be delivered. Ha! I received four items (no coffee cake). I emailed and was told it was a new driver, they would be redelivering to my neighborhood. Ok. Overnight, the redelivery was made, but only two items. Still no coffee cakes. 🙁. I had to reach out again and was told I would receive a credit. I found the process extremely frustrating and mismanaged, and am not sure I want to try again so am annoyed I have a credit to my account at SMC and not my credit card. They definitely did not make a good first impression.

Are their produce boxes consistently generous or consistently stingy?

I see many boxes listed with quantities like (tomatoes, 1-3 pieces) or (peaches, 2-3 pieces, quantity 2).
Would you expect 1 tomato and 4 peaches, or 3 tomatoes and 6 peaches?

So far the most delicious items have been the milk, eggs (taste much better to me than store bought) and the cake. The pre made meals have been hit or miss.

Check the meat packages, too. I compared the descriptions to the labels and found we were short a couple pounds of meat. The meat itself was vacuum packed and frozen but tasted good when we cooked it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sausage, but the rest of the meat was great.

I tip every week, about $15.

The cheese is not always great, but the feta is good. The grain bread is delicious, and do get the coffee. Eggs, milk, cream and buttermilk — all great. Steaks are pretty good, and so is the ground turkey and ground beef. Almost all of the meats come frozen.

We get regular shipments of the produce and meats, but a heads-up that sometimes you get what you get. Like everyone, they have had some supply-chain issues that are out of their control, and I have seen them switch suppliers around.

I like their chicken butcher boxes. I get 2 gallons of milk and a dozen eggs each week. I’m not a big fan of the lunch cheeses, they’re re very mild. The sliced honey ham is very good. I find the bread to be very dry and clearly not freshly baked ( day or three old tasting). The hot dogs are too thick but that’s a personal preference. Also the sirloin steaks that come in butcher boxes are cut like medallions and super thick, so not conducive to easy grilling. The lunch bundles are good. I get those when I have a busy week ahead.

The ice cream was fine but not amazing.
I wish you could order the meals separately rather than as a package but I get why they have them bundled.

I don't tip each time. I tip at Christmas.

I love the salads and gazpacho in the lunch box. They vary each week but they are delicious. I had a whole grain pasta salad with almonds and mango with the lightest dressing. Soooo good and not flavors I would have thought to mix together in a pasta salad. They had watermelon gazpacho last week too.

I love their eggs.
I oddly love their American cheese. Reminds me of the more "real" cheese from my childhood and not this weird cheesefood mess you buy today.
