Not me. I'll just keep sending mine to practice so the whole team can get it and get over it.

OMG I'm so sad for you.

It’s similar to a bad case of the Flu for those age 40 to 60. 20 to 40 show little to zero symptoms.

I personally know 20+ people through all of these age demographics that follow the trend. One of which had half a lung and cancer! He was in the hospital for a month. None passed away. Four got were sick for about two weeks. Kids were never affected.

My goodness. What happened to people’s ability to think for themselves? Social media? Biased news sources? Politics? All of the above? It’s really disheartening.

Oh well, not like anyone is going to change the world on a youth soccer forum, lol. I guess many of you are enjoying the quarantine life and can’t really argue that.

Maybe we’ll play again in, hmmmmm, never? Or are you going to go have some random unproven vaccine put inside you and your kids. You probably don’t even realize the H1N1 vaccine killed more kids than CoVid up to this point do you? Really, I could go on and on. I could post statistics and facts all day long but you still would refuse. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

I wish I could end on a positive note but the more I read forums like this and others, the less Hope I have for youth soccer. If only my DD played baseball!

Well said. The good news is that I think that parents who don't post here are far more likely to agree with you than the ones that do. Here there seem to be more panickers than lets-get-back-to-normallers. Out in the real world the ratio seems to be very different.

Our U17 will be staying put. She is adamant that she wants to continue training with the hope of playing in August. The training and working on her fitness are worth every penny for me. Having something more "normal" is a big deal too.

We are moving our daughter to cheaper alternative (1/3 of the price) but still playing in NCSL. She is only a U10. Seems like a no brainer given the likelihood of a season this fall.

Keeping other child - U12 - at a more expensive place. But I am nervous given that they are full-on scrimmaging.

I agree it is such a time suck and so much $$ was spent on it last year. Not sure it is worth it. May just focus on non-team sports for a while.

I laughed at this post a few weeks ago or whenever it started. Today, I am considering pulling my son. With the high cost of soccer, absolutely no guarantee that there will be games and the push to practice 3x a week, I am wondering whether the risk is worth it. Our club came out with all sorts of rules (that were probably based on state or ECNL or some other guidance) but none of it is being followed - except that you cannot have keeper practice during any team event because they can only touch their own equipment (and my son is a keeper). Soccer is such a time and money suck and without that carrot of real practices and games, I just don’t know it any of it is worth it. So yes, I am considering it.
