As as for "even on friend," whatever that means - i am not mistaken that DS got in and got money. Again male and private, but still admitted.
But OP, check these schools out. They are solid top to bottom and well worth the consideration.
First, it was a typo, "even one friend". Should not have been hard to discern but I'll try and be clearer for you.
Also, you misrepresent my thoughts which were clearly stated:
- You are lying or extremely mistaken. I do care about that.
- I believe you are lying but I don't care what your motivation is.
Everything clear now?
Plainly I am not mistake that DS got in with the stats I quoted or that he was offered money as an inducement to attend. That some students have low scores does not reflect badly on an institution if you are insecure about your attendance at one of these schools. My motivation was to answer the question posed in good faith. You still haven't explained why someone should lie about this and instead resort to attacks. Again, the schools are not out of range. Best of luck to OP.

Anonymous wrote:What is the critical error? What possible motive could there be? Tricking someone into applying?
To be clear, I never said DS was at Whitman. He went to a private HS, which I will admit makes a big difference, particularly at Trinity/Conn.
And I don't know how it works at Whitman, but at most privates you lose Naviance access at year end anyway.
Anonymous wrote:Again, it happened. Why make that up? I strongly suspect PP has never applied anywhere with a 26 ACT and a 2.9. DS, however, did. And, while I agree the results are surprising, I suspect that -- shocking - all of these schools have a bottom 25%. Go figure.
Still can't see why PP thinks this is not true. Is it some evil plan to try to get one more rejected app at NESCAC schools? Or is it someone trying to be helpful having gone through the process with lower scores. Occam's razor?

From Conn Coll or Trinity? I think not.
And yes both those schools have a strong ED round where need aware/full pay is a major factor.
Yet it is true. Well worth trying with OP’s stays. Particularly if male. Was not DS’s cup of tea but it was nice to receive. And we did visit, which may be relevant
No, I do not believe you at all. Four points under the 25th percentile for Conn and three points under the 25th percentile for Trinity with a 2.9 GPA you wouldn't even get admitted RD let alone get merit aid.

Don’t care if you choose to remain ignorant.
OP, point is there are lots of good options and these schools worked out for us with lower scores than you posted. Cast a wide net and it should work out.
My guess is PP isn't familiar with the range of GPAs that will get students admitted to schools like Conn, Providence, Trinity, depending on what school they are coming from. The 2.5-2.9 kids from the privates in this area routinely go to all of these schools. A 2.9 from Potomac is not the same as a 2.9 from Walt Whitman.
