You are a tone deaf boomer to think it is appropriate to post this at this time.

DP. Why do you think it is okay for you to be intolerant but you expect tolerance from others? You're a hypocrite (and probably other things …). If you expect tolerance then you need to practice tolerance. Until you realize that no one will be willing to listen to you.

I don’t need you to listen to me. You are the one claiming BLM is unfair because you were bullied in elementary school. It’s a ridiculous position.

You don't think that happened? You are racist and obnoxious. Its not about being unfair but don't expect everyone to follow one movement especially when there are not clear leaders, it is equally rooted in violence and if you look at statistics, whites, hispanics and unknown races are also murdered and no one seems to care about that.

I believe it happened. I don’t care. You can say you don’t support BLM and that is your choice. I’m not pretending your elementary school bullying is = to enduring hundreds of years of systemic oppression and violence.

DP. And that is your problem. You believe that racism occurred with another person but you choose not to care. Some day hopefully you'll mature and you'll understand why your attitude is holding you back. If you can't be tolerant then you can't expect tolerance.

What race are you, OP?

It is widely accepted. The only people who don’t accept it are racist garbage.

Let me be more clear: it is NOT POSSIBLE for white people to be marginalized

You are racist. Yes, it is possible. You realize Jews, Gays/Lesbians and other groups fall under white. As well as those with SN...

Yes and people who are White and LGBTQ or White and disabled will still receive better treatment than people who are Black and LGBTQ or Black and disabled because that’s how White privilege works. Our racial construct rewards whiteness so White privilege will protect you from marginalization.

So the number of those people who are white but experience hate crimes are lying? Jews actually recorded higher numbers of hate crimes than any other group.

Why do you find it so emotionally impossible to acknowledge racism that Black people have endured for 400+ plus years? It doesn’t mean other people haven’t suffered. You just can’t do it though. HAVE to pivot to talk about another group.

DP. I don't understand this blind adherence to a tenet that is so obviously untrue. There are many groups that racism and systemic racism across our country and across the world. Just go to India or Russia or China, and you will see caste systems that have been in place for centuries. Part of the problem with the BLM movement is the unwillingness to recognize that there are many, many groups that experience racism and who have experienced it for much longer durations.

You're getting angry at a poster (not me) who is making a valid point. He isn't refuting your point, he is simply pointing out that his identifying group(s) also experiences systemic racism and have/s for a very long time.

Nobody is saying they haven’t. Black people simply want their lives and their value validated. It is NOT hard to do that. It doesn’t mean others don’t matter. If you can’t say black lives matter without asking about other lives, ask why.

Anonymous wrote:All lives matter.

That is true, but only in theory. Because right now, NOT all lives matter. You can't say "All Lives Matter!" when one part of the ALL is being discriminated against over and over.

We know this is true because time and time again, BLACK people are singled out and killed for simply existing.

Therefore, until BLACK lives matter, all lives DO NOT matter.

All means all.

Thank you!

I think anything that singles out one race is offensive because it makes others feel less worthy. Goes both ways like whites only bathrooms. Singling out that only Black lives matter gives the same impression. Why does the race even matter. Police brutality is what it is and shouldn't be tolerated, not matter the race.

Then you are reading in wrong, flat out. YOU added "only."

If the sentiment was meant to mean "Only Black Lives Matter," that's what it would say.

Accept the fact that we already know that white lives matter, and nobody needs to be reminded of it. Accept the fact that law enforcement (and others) need a reminder that black lives matter. It's your refusal to see this that's causing you to interpret the phrase incorrectly.

Very few white people are privileged. This area has a high number of privileged of all races but our area is not the norm.

The issue is police brutality which goes across all races. If you had any common sense, you'd look at the numbers and see that. So, if you want other racial groups to be involved, include them. But, this is basically a separatist movement. It isn't even separate but equal. All the lives lost due to police officers should be valued.
