This is relevant to Maine. Many visitors come from metro Boston.

So true. And you also have the NYC crowd flocking to Maine.

The out of state plates issue would be relevant anywhere in NE.

My wife's fear in this is less the law but more being harassed by locals who would see our out of state plates.

I understand your wife's concerns. Could you rent a car for a few weeks from the airport with Maine plates? Might be worth the piece of mind, if you can afford to do so.

In RI, where I live, staties were knocking on doors in vacation communities if they saw cars with out of state plates, to remind them of the quarantine rules.

We are hoping to be in Rhode Island for a few weeks this summer. I would gladly quarantine to be there right now! I understand that RI still has a the 2 week quarantine for out of state people in place.

Are you able to walk on the beaches? East Matunuck State Beach is my favorite. And Salty's food.

Beaches are open for walking and recreation. But parking lots are closed, as is parking on nearby roads. You need to be within walking distance of the beach to enjoy it.

I think state beaches are back open for walking with more limited parking than normal. And a couple of my friends have raved about takeout from Matunuck Oyster Bar. I also love that beach-the last time I went there the water was full of salps (they are sea creatures that are kind of like living orbeez, which sounds like it could be gross but it was amazing.
