It's been suggested elsewhere on this site. The government could simply deliver everyone some rice and beans once a week.

That is horrible. I get the impression people around here really dont understand how MOST people ACTUALLY have to live. Its not acceptable.

I really feel closing stores to the general public, providing safety gear and turning employees into order filling shoppers and delivery drivers would be a great option.

There would need to be a way to handle people who cant order online, and perhaps for some people a set recurring delivery would be a good option. You order once and then its set. THere must be a better way than killing people.

Alternative to delivery spots is time-synchronized curbside pickup.

For those without internet access, time-linked instore shopping with one way aisles and using a percent of the store's capacity.

Or it could be by surname and first character of your last name. E.g, people whose last names start with A or B are 9-10am, C and D, 10-11 am, etc.

Safest is Sams scan and go (you scan the item on your phone, check out/pay on your phone, and then the checker at the door scans your phone and one item.) No contact.

But that eliminates a lot of jobs of people who need them.

Yes it does now.
The best time to go to Kentlands Giant has been evening, when meat department is stocked and store only has a few customers.

I don’t know about Giant specifically but many stores have special hours designated for seniors and others who are high risk in the mornings. You should check. I think going at night just before closing can be a good time or just a weekday around 10am or so: after senior hours but before lunch hour.


3am - 4am is perfect at Safeway in Kensington and Giant on Old Georgetown Rd in Bethesda.

Not a soul in the place but you and the employees restocking (and it's usually the time when deliveries like TP come in too).
